WHEN TWO SOULS MEET
Within minutes of meeting
the high winds decided
that I would surrender control,
From cold correctness to vulnerable warmth
I climbed from the ground
to meet the unknown,
Belief in the guidance,
eyes on his face,
wanting to trust the intuitive yes,
His eyes on the road,
My feet firm on my path,
I held on to the knowledge I'm never alone.
And then in the restaurant
the table was crooked,
it sloped to the light of the trying-to-shine sun.
His smile lit the room
and his laugh found the children
that played in our hearts and wanted some fun.
His voice spoke of feelings,
of sharing and learning
while his eyes clearly searched for a home,
And I felt my heart open, invited him in.
When his hand touched my own
I felt we were one.
A soft kiss said more please
and touch led to wanting
timelessness, wholeness and love.
Then the real world returned
and forever was over;
people and duties and schedules kicked in,
And today is tomorrow
but yesterday lives
in warm memory of meeting this man
Who awakened the child
in the heart of a woman.
Are we willing
to let a new chapter begin?
