'TWAS THE NIGHT.....
'Twas the night before Christmas
And all thru the world
Tears of angels are falling
As they watch hatred hurled
From human to human
At home and abroad.
The angels are singing
Be at peace! Send out love!
But so few will listen,
Too ready to shove.
Too busy are we planning strategy,
Firing weapons, intolerance, greed,
And spoiling the season
for children so hurting,
so meek and so mild,
Born into a world
That is cruel, that is wild.
And the tears of the angels are mingled with mine,
He did not die for this...this was not His plan,
Be at peace! Send out love!
Please take a hand
In ending the hatred, overcome it with good,
Celebrate His birthday and life as we should.
Love is the door,
Open it wide,
Please end all war,
And in peace abide.
Can't we learn from the past,
And end all the sorrow,
Give the children on earth
Some hope for tomorrow?
