TO MY DAUGHTERS
Every year the mothers
in this land are highly praised
by the children
they lovingly
and willingly raised.
How often does a mother
consider where she'd be
if the anchors that she bore
left her sinking in the sea?
Well, I, for one, give thanks to God
but mostly thanks to thee,
I gave you life
but you saved mine
because you needed me.
I am a very lucky woman
and my children are the best,
They gave me strength and purpose
when I thought I'd fail the test.
You both gave me strength and purpose
When there was none to be found
And I will never doubt
that I'm the luckiest mom around.
And though this verse is corny,
And though you'll think I'm touched,
I wish you Happy Daughter's Day!
I love you both so much!
