THE WISDOM OF WISE FOOLS
It's not as though anything happened
And nothing came to pass
But I met this feeling stranger
And I wanted it to last.
I felt my age, my doubts, my fear,
my vulnerability,
my insecurity.
And in this man who knows me not
Were doubts and fears....the end?
He felt the surge of passion
But will he deem to be a friend?
In one tiny holy instant
A stranger touched my soul
My heart reached out and touched him
I loved and I felt whole.
God, I hate your sense of humour
And all your man-made rules.
In one small hand I'm holding
All the wisdom of wise fools.
I've built this wall around me
That none can penetrate
But this warm and loving stranger
knocked it down and I now I wait
And will I wait forever
For a love that may not call?
He touched me and I'm there for him,
He touched my soul, my all.
