A DEVIL IN DISGUISE
Who are you? I asked gazing into brown eyes,
Who am I? he smiled.
"I'm a devil in disguise."
If you are a devil, come into my light,
Allow me to love you
and make it all right.
Your disguise is attractive,
I find it appealing,
But my soul wants to question,
what are you concealing?
Voices connected, souls met;
hot, wet hours
On a daybed assembled
by mystical powers.
And how can it be that I see in your eyes
A longing, a need, a question of trust,
Truth that is scary
and love that is lust.
And how can it be that I know in my heart
A belonging, a mirror, a soul who is free,
A lust that is love;
a soul guided to me?
Your disguise does not hide
your need nor your fear,
But the past is tomorrow
if not talked about here.
So if you are a devil
Come into your light,
Allow you to love me and make it all right.
Your disguise is attractive,
but your truth sets you free,
Guardian angels are smiling.
Won't you please talk to me?
Tell me your laughter,
your secrets, your sorrow,
Throw away your disguise
and share my tomorrow.
Who are you? I'll ask staring into brown eyes.
Who am I?
I'll tell you
and I'll tell you no lies.
