A DAY OFF WORK
I was ousted from the sunporch
by a bee the size of Titan.
I've retreated to the backyard
That's what happens when I'm frightened.
I've left poor Oscar sitting
on the shelf he's made his throne.
When it comes to bees as big as me
Dear cat, you're on your own.
The backyard view is pretty
an untidy touch of God.
Wild flowers, weeds and rhubarb
Thrust their will out of the sod.
The neighbour's dog was barking
But thank God he's quiet now.
A man waters his garden
A robin sings his song.
Imagine life so peaceful.
The hardest thing I've done
Is to shift my rear from front to back
To watch the setting sun.
